Well, I read so many threads about the virtues of the FireFox web browser, I decided to give it another try. I downloaded the cookiecruller plug in and made a mistake in using it. Now I am unable to log on to this site with it. I had deleted the cookies and then like a dummy checked do not let sites that have been deleted re-set another cookie. Duh! I have removed the cookie program, re- booted..nothing. I have also removed the browser, re-booted..nothing. Then I wiped the program with Norton System Works..nothing. When I re-installed the program the old settings were still there. The web site is very confusing and badly organized. They want to charge up to $25 bucks to help me. To say the least I am not pleased. If anyone out there could help me I would be very greatful.

You should have reset the cookie setting BEFORE uninstalling the cookiecruller plug-in. Try re-installing FireFox and the plug-in uncheck the reset cookie box THEN uninstall. Can't help you with Norton tho.... when Peter Norton was running things they were an outstanding company. Since Symantec took over I've not been impressed.

I have already done what you suggested. Is there a reset option besides unchecking the don't allow removed cookie site from resetting? I might have to do a restore, which I hate to do.

Cindi, try this:
Click on Tools/Options, then click on the Privacy icon on the left side of the window that comes up. You should see Cookies in the main pane. Click the little plus next to Cookies to expand it if not already done so. Ok, now you should see a button labeled exceptions. Click it and look for cookies from Stardock or Wincustomize. If it says Deny beside them, that is causing the problem. Delete those cookies and that will hopefully take care of it.

Man, wishe I had asked that the other week. Had a similar problem. Didn't do a restore though. Once I unistalled, I went in and deleted the rest of the files left behind. Started with a new download & was up and running.
