I am wondering if there is a good registry cleaner out there that is safe. Is there such a thing? I appreciate it. Thank you.

http://www.ccleaner.com/

Haven't had any trouble with this one. Be sure to always say yes to backing up the registry before cleaning, just in case.

I use CC too, and I've never had any problems with it.

I use CCleaner, also, Regcleaner. Never had any problem with either one. There's also, Regscrub and NTREGOPT. The last one optimizes you're registry. And ERUNT, which backs up you're registry. I use them all. No Problems with any.

Cindi..Ccleaner is excellent...I havent had any trouble with it at all.. and it cleans so much more than just the registry..I rarily use "Disk Cleanup" anymore..Ccleaner is an all around OS cleanup utility..

Although excellent advice from Koasati about backing up the registry before fixing/cleaning..I really dont bother with that anymore..but thats just me..LoL..I have back-ups of anything important...

Anyway..Just wanted to confirm what everyone has said..Ccleaner ROCKS!..LoL

Sure does Double Zero, thanks for pointing it out to me!

A while back I had some problems with a friends PC. One problem was with Disk Cleanup (took forever). DZ suggested CCleaner. I downloaded it, ran it, and it worked great. It freed up about a Gig of temp files alone (hence, no more Disk Cleanup problems). I use it about 90% of the time on my own PC.

@clwoods: It'll definitely remove it.

Well, you could try Registry Mechanic. It's always helped me out.

I recently downloaded RegCleaner http://www.webmasterfree.com/regcleaner.html ...it's small and simple, and works great.

I just tried CCleaner (thanks for the tips), and was very impressed. It's simple and fast, and seems to do a great job.

Only problem was, it kept bringing up the same odd broken file associations, even though I kept telling to clean them up. No big deal, though.
